In Adelaide yesterday, the headlines read: Hailstorm Damages Solar Pool Heating, and the unseasonal weather event certainly did.
Within an hour of the storm, our phones started running hot with pool owners reporting damage to their roof mounted pool heating systems.
Whether or not it’s related to climate change, we’ve certainly witness increased wind, rain, and hail over the past few months and yesterday’s deluge is a reminder that it’s important to move quickly after any potentially-damaging weather event.
Test your solar pool heating system after every hailstorm
We’ve discovered that some people suspected there might have been damaged but weren’t sure how to check.
The first step is to operate your system and see what it’s reporting.
Minor damage can often be repaired but major damage needs replacement which will involve an insurance claim.
I can’t stress the importance of moving quickly to ensure the direct connection between the storm and the damage.
Adelaide Pool Heating technicians are available to carry out assessments and complete necessary repairs or quote to replace any damaged systems.
And if it is an insurance claim that’s needed, no problem. We are already helping pool owners with that and can work with your insurance company, providing required documentation, photos, and reports.
And photos are key. In fact, these two came through on my phone within an hour of the storm, taking by concerned pool owners.
The short message: Don’t panic. Just get an inspection and we’ll have you enjoying your pool in comfort as soon as possible.
